Good Day all,

Has anyone run into the following message while running an analysis on an assembly with one component containing hyperelastic properties?

*** Decomp. Singular Stiffness Matrix. Recovering...

Thanks for any ensight you can provide.

Simulation failed!

I've been trying to run a simulation on a frame and it keeps failing.  It says in the log

AutoGEM has detected an element incompatibility across the

highlighted curve. Adding points to the curve may help.

In some cases, re-creating the curve and adjacent

surfaces may be required.

but I can't see anything highlighted.

In the log it also says:

The highlighted geometry may cause meshing problems.

Creo Simulate has placed this geometry in the group "agem_bad_geom".

All problematic geometry is automatically placed in this group.

I don't know where this file is.  Any help would be greatly apreciated

Planetary gear design

Hi all

i would like to know how to create a planetry gear reducer.I have modeled all the parts but their mechanism gives problem.

Scenario is that i have a planetry gear head with 5 rows of planetry carriers for a reduction of 1:625.each row has three planetry gear.

Now i have made a sub assembly of Sun gear, planetry gear, and planetry carrier and the gear connection between sun and planetry are correct

BUT the gear connection between the RING gear and the PLANETRY gear is not successful.

NOTE:RING gear is stationary part.

Kindly tell me proper method of correcting these connection.or refer me to some tutorial regarding this issue.

If someone have Planetry gear asembly.kindly email it to  davidrifat@yahoo.com so that i can see the mechanism in action and reverse it to correct my own.

Fatigue Analysis for plastic materials

Dear all,

Is there any option to analyse components made up of plastic materials (e.g pp,30%gf pp, Acetal, Abs) for fatigue failure. Can you please give more details to perform a fatigue analysis for plastic parts using Creo simulate 2.0?

Mass properties are not calculated

Just starting on Creo 2.0, and when I save a part (or assembly) I get the following conflict window pop up:

"Mass properties are not calculated"

Now.... I know what it means   The trouble is I have not created a mass properties feature or a saved analysis and I currently have no need or desire to calculate the mass properties of my part. I have to check this box off every time I save a file.

Does anyone know how to get rid of this?

The Most Worthless Error Message

This is a gripe not a question. I get this sometimes while trying to mesh complex geometry.

"

The requested shape change failed because it results in

the deletion of the highlighted geometry. This geometry has

an association that cannot be deleted. "

1) No geometry is highlighted!

2) What does it mean?

I have slowly come to learn that this message indicates that certian idealizations can not share the same point. There is no indication where the problem is located and what can not share a point. This measage predates WF and it still exsists in Creo.

So I'm trying to Run an analysis on an assembly and I am getting the error of (see picture). I have been able to run a few successful analysis but lately they are coming up with this Analysis. Any suggestions?

Nonlinear Contact analysis of assembly w/ one component containing hyperelastic material properties, can it be done?

Hi all,

Is it possible to run an contact analysis on an assembly where you have 3 components and the one in the center has Hyperelastic material properties?

The 3 components are not bonded and the middle one is a rubber part not bonded to the outer 2.

Thanks

MDO help

I need to calculate torque/force acting on the outer friction disc.

The inner friction disc rotates alongwith the shaft and the outer friction disc only rotates when it comes in contact with the inner disc. (Basic principle of clutch)

I'm not sure how to constrain the outer disc in such a way that it rotates due to friction and not as a part of the rest of the assembly.

Also, is it possible to calculate heat generated due to friction??

Please help!!

Display Mechanica study status in batch mode

Hi everybody,

Is it possible to display "run status" (interactive diagnostics) while running analysis in batch mode ?

I mean the content of the .rpt file but I'd like to see it displayed in a prompt command as new lines are added in the .rpt file.

Any help would be appreciated.

Export deformed state as a Step file or similar, that may be used in a new simulation job.

If you want to use the deformed state of a simulation in a subsequent analysis you are advised to export as VRML, go through Shrinkwrap, to end up with a solid model. This is quite time consuming and often tricky to get Shrinkwrap to generate the required details without too many artifacts.

It would be much easier to directly export a Step file of the deformed part. This could then be used in a new simulation if needed.

Batch Mechanica - Available options

Hello,

Does anybody know if it is possible to specify option for each analysis.

For example : activating particular Rigid-links or desactivating a Mass or Restriction ?

I can't find documentation about Batch options/scripts for Mechanica.

Many thanks for your help !

x-sections

In WF4/5 setting a cross section active in Pro/E meant that it could be seen/used in Mechanica.

This was useful, example defining contact regions on concentric internal components, picking the surfaces was less confusing.

I know we can use 'hide' but in some circumstances it is not as good.

How can we see x-sections in Creo Simulate?

Thanks

FEM analysis of a spring

Hi all,

I've designed a spring and I want to see if the value of tensions are, more or less, the same I've calculated with the formulas.

The matetial is "springflex" with

E=206000 MPa

G=81500 MPa

Su=2270 MPa

d=0.9mm

In my calculation, the spring is verified.

Anyway, the results that Mechanica gives me (I've used WF5 for the FEM simulation) provides tensions much much high...

I've done two tipe of analysis:

1) I've imposed the displacement (35 mm)

2) I've imposed the force (25 N)

but, for me, the results are incorrect but I don't know why.

I've tryed "linear" and "non-linear" analisys for with large deformations.

Greetings

Bonded contact analysis

Hello,

I am trying to do a FEA on bonded contact model, which I ran with contact before.

Even I tried to implement a bonded contact (componenet to componenet) and changed to bonded in model setup, it is not being detected. During the review geometry option it is not even showing that, which is very strange.

Anyone have solution for this?

Material file database (again)

Hello all - I'm new to this group but a seasoned Pro/E designer and experienced Mechanica user based on Ireland.

I have a job on which requires me to finally get to grips with the new elastic-plastic analysis functionality of Simulate 2 and apply it to a forming operation on a small 300 series stainless steel tube. Would anybody on here be prepared to share a material definition file for one of these steels, set up with stress/strain data for LDA? I'm not trying to freeload and would be happy to work collaboratively and reciprocally with one or more knowledgeable users who may also also be working to develop confidence in this powerful new functionality.

Many thanks

Tony

Does anyone know where to get a list of what's coming up in Creo Simulate 3.0?
